HOW YOU CAN HELP

More information on what can be done individually to help prevent water pollution build up in the Hudson River:

· Don’t pour paint down sink.

· Use organic pesticides.

· Properly dispose of raked lawn leaves; they decompose releasing harmful chemicals into drains.

· Create Compost Pile, use for gardening, and fertilization.

· During the winter, drain pool- this prevents stagnant water from being created.

· Use non-toxic household products

· Do not waste water/ use sparingly: brushing teeth, showers, cooking, and consumption.

· Recycle and dispose of all trash properly.

· Pick up pet waste, and properly dispose of.

· Don’t throw cigarette butts on the ground.

· Maintain Automobile- Prevent leaks of antifreeze, gasoline, and oil
